Transportation
DuBois, Pennsylvania is fortunate to have three modes of transportation
available-interstate highways, rail freight lines, and air travel. Visitors,
business travelers, and shippers have the option to choose the method that is
most cost effective for them.
DuBois is strategically located at the intersections of several federal and
state roads. Interstate 80, the main East-West corridor, has three exits for
DuBois--Exits 90, 97 and 101. Route 322 is the longest highway in Pennsylvania
as it cuts a diagonal path from Philadelphia in the Southeast to the Pymatuning
Reservoir in the Northwest, and Route 219 is the North-South corridor.
Rail Freight has a long tradition in DuBois and the
Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad still serves
area businesses today. DuBois is one of the few places in the region that has
available land, warehouse space, or commercial properties with rail access.
The DuBois Regional Airport in nearby
Falls Creek offers convenient commuter service to travelers for business or
pleasure as well as carrying airfreight. Both travelers and freight transport
have convenient access to the airport from Interstate 80 Exit 90. The airport is
designated a Foreign
Trade Zone, which can eliminate or reduce import/export fees for area
businesses. Shippers who import or export products internationally can receive
additional information from the DuBois Regional Airport web site.
