"Business Helping Business" is what we are all about. The Greater
DuBois Chamber of Commerce represents member companies and organizations throughout
our service area of 14 municipalities and townships. The Chamber’s MISSION
is to actively assist its member businesses to achieve their full potential
and to promote the economic viability of this beautiful area. The Chamber
helps businesses to succeed by providing a wide range of programs and services
designed to promote business retention and economic development. Our primary
goal is to improve the business climate, which in turn improves the broader
community. We want to be YOUR business resource!

MEMBER TO MEMBER DISCOUNT PROGRAM
Many of our businesses participate in our member-to-member discount program.
It’s a great way to get business, not to mention the savings you can realize
for your own business needs. A member-to-member discount benefits you
and it’s a great employee benefit. Call the Chamber office at 371-5010

GIFT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
As a Chamber member, your business can participate in the Gift Certificate
Program. Simply agree to accept Chamber gift certificates at your business
and you receive full value of the certificates—a great way to encourage customers
to shop locally. You can purchase Chamber gift certificates for employees
and provide gifts for special occasions. Call the Chamber office at 371-5010

FREE & IMMEDIATE ADVERTISING TO NEW MEMBERS
We immediately add your contact information to our website,
www.duboispachamber.com. If you have a website or e-mail, we link
you for FREE to our site. You receive (1) FREE flyer insert in
our “Chamber Chatter” newsletter that goes to over 500 area business people. Your business
profile, contact information and logo are included in the “Chatter” as well
as public notice in area newspapers announcing your Chamber membership.
REFERRALS
The Chamber staff provides information and contacts for a multitude of purposes.
When requests for businesses and services come to us, it is our Chamber members’
names we specify. We do this in the form of specific referrals
by business type or generally through our mailings to potential residents and
visitors. Each year we send thousands of Membership Directories and Community
Profiles, in which our members are highlighted and promoted. We also provide
these to realtors, hotels, schools and the hospital, which helps them to promote
the area and our members.
NETWORKING & CONTACTS
This is one of the Chamber’s most valuable functions; providing our businesses
with opportunities to meet potential customers and clients at Chamber-sponsored
events. We hear more and more that people are connecting and forging business
relationships as a result of these networking opportunities. We usually
have 10 After Hours programs per year plus our Annual Gala in January;
the Chamber/Jaycee Golf Tournament in May; and the Silver Ribbon Award Luncheon in July;
Ladies Golf Tournament in September; and quarterly Business Over Breakfast meetings.
AREA MEMBER NEWS
The “Chamber Chatter” newsletter provides updates on Chamber events, business
news and interesting articles. Ad space is available in the newsletter
as well as inserting flyers and brochures from member businesses. In addition
to the monthly newsletter, we mass fax and broadcast e-mail messages to our
members when appropriate.
MARKETING & SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
There are numerous opportunities to promote your business, either by sponsoring
a Chamber event or using our marketing programs. The Chamber ‘s Tourism
& Marketing Committee works to promote our Greater area through various programs;
namely by our sponsorship of community events such as Community Days, In-Town
Christmas Celebration as well as community projects like the Liberty Boulevard
Beautification renovation.
AREA TOURISM BUREAU
Our office is the local branch of our regional tourism bureau, the
Northwest Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau. We send out thousands
of pieces of information each year to prospective visitors and residents. We
fill many requests for area maps, event calendars and activity listings.
AREA INFORMATION CLEARINGHOUSE
Our office is a one-stop information center providing important business,
trade, demographics, marketing, management, and general area resources.
If we don’t know the answer, we know where to find it.
BULK MAIL ASSISTANCE
If you don’t have your own permit number for large mailings, we can help.
Call us at 371-5010 for details if you have 200 or more pieces to mail.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND SURVEYS
We survey our members on a regular basis to assess how the members are doing
in their businesses and how well we are servicing our members’ needs.
As a result of past surveys, we have been able to fine-tune our educational
programs and events to better serve our members. Please help us to help
you! Keep your eye on the ”Chamber Chatter” for upcoming seminars.
OPPORTUNITY TO INFLUENCE
There is strength in numbers. By joining your local Chamber of Commerce,
you join your voice with other business owners. Whether you sell products
or provide services locally, you do provide jobs and have a stake in the area’s
economy. The Chamber’s Advocacy Committee acts as a liaison to government,
news media, and local lobbying groups. The Chamber ensures that local
business interests are understood and that the rights of business are protected.
As a member of the Pennsylvania State Chamber, the Greater DuBois Chamber of
Commerce joins its voice with other chambers to keep our legislators informed
of issues vital to our members.
