Theater Auditions

The Reitz Theater will be hosting auditions for the classic Broadway musical “Gypsy”! Gypsy tells the ultimate story of what it is to be a success-seeking stage mother, in the form of Mama Rose, told affectionately through song and dance. Complicating the journey is her gaggle of children who eventually grow up and grow away...except one child, Louise, who accidentally challenges Mama's motivations, goals, and self-concept that she worked toward for so many years.

Gypsy features 38 to 40 roles for elementary age children, preteen / teen children, and adults ranging in age from 20s to early 50s. There are 8 singing roles involving primarily the adult characters, but also for children in smaller roles and groups. People who are interested in singing parts are asked to sing a song from the show, if possible. Acapella choices are acceptable as well.
