DuBois makes a perfect "home base" for your vacation; stay at one of our Chamber member hotels, bed & breakfast inn, cabins, or at Crown Resorts in Treasure Lake. Go camping, explore the State Parks, State Forests, the Allegheny National Forest or see the Pennsylvania elk herd in nearby Elk County. Play golf at one of our excellent courses, enjoy dinner at one of our restaurants, and then see what's playing at the local theater. Take a day trip on the Groundhog Trail, sampling award-winning wines from fifteen area wineries and vineyards. Shopping in the variety of stores will keep you busy, from our unique, locally owned shops downtown to nationally known stores at the DuBois Mall and the DuBois Commons.
Getting here. There are still places that have no cell phone or internet--can you handle it? Explore them on foot, on a bike, by car, motorcycle, or on horseback. P.S. Take a map and keep your gas tank filled. Pennsylvania's State Parks are one of the best values for recreation. There is no admission fee to enjoy a day of swimming, hiking, and picnicking. Many parks have campgrounds, and for a small fee you can sleep under the stars. There are 29 state parks within the PA Wilds Region. Find out more at PA State Parks.
Include a few side trips to other parts of Pennsylvania. To locate amusement parks, factory tours, or to find out if you are a "shunpiker," go to the PA Visitors Bureau.
