    JOB TITLE: Graphic Designer

    CLASSIFICATION:  Full-time, Non-exempt

    COMPENSATION: Minimum Starting Salary $42,000

    REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing and Public Relations

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or other related fine arts specialty and one year of related work experience in design and digital media

            OR

            Six years combined related work experience and/or education/training with industry certifications

    • Proven ability to create compelling designs in alignment with organizational brands through portfolio presentation
    • Proven proficiency with use of computer applications and programs associated with the position (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite [InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop], Canva, etc.) through portfolio presentation

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or other related fine arts specialty and two or more years of related work experience in design and digital media
    • Experience in higher education marketing
    • Experience utilizing a project management system (Base Camp, Asana, Trello, etc.), customer relationship management system, and asset management system
    • Knowledge of direct mail marketing and/or printing process(es)
    • Additional fine arts experience in photography, multimedia design, or other design-related specialties, which may include website design elements
    • Comprehensive understanding of brand management

    POSITION SUMMARY:  

    This position supports the strategic priorities and goals of the institution, as well as the marketing and public relations department, by creating text and imagery concepts that exemplify the college’s brand. Under general supervision, the successful candidate will assist with producing visually compelling, on-brand print and digital content and marketing materials. The incumbent is expected to produce high quality materials which may include, but are not limited to, electronic or print designs for advertising or college publications, development of new elements or illustrations for the brand, display features for the recruitment teams, and signage for NPRC facilities.

    This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Public Relations, collaborates extensively with the department’s content specialist, and supports and collaborates on design requests with all departments.

    Core competencies of this position include defining project scope, quality management, ethical and transparent written and verbal communication, organization, discipline, adaptability, and attention to detail.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Work collaboratively to assist the Director of Marketing and Public Relations to develop and deliver print and digital design components that help meet the College’s institutional and marketing objectives through new design activities or updates of existing materials
    • Assist in maintaining the catalog of college logos, visual and audio assets, and brand guidelines, as well as helping to communicate brand guidelines for proper use of logos and branding elements
    • Manage multiple assigned design projects with evolving priorities and quick deadlines by utilizing project management software and collaborating with teammates Assist in photo shoots, as needed, and adjusting digital photos for multiple purposes, including but not limited to print, web, and email distribution
    • Collaborate with the college’s content specialist to develop respective visuals for scheduled social media and online content
    • Work with external agencies to develop specific digital marketing and stand-alone campaigns
    • Play an active role in the evolution of brand design concepts using evidence-based decision-making and in collaboration with respective marketing consultants
    • Successfully implement design feedback regarding process and graphic decisions
    • Assist with monitoring the College’s social media channels and activities, and manage channels in the absence of the content specialist
    • Stay up to date on current trends in design

    Must be able to obtain the following clearances and training:

    • PA Child Abuse History Clearance
    • Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History Record Check

    WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK SCHEDULE:

    • Office Location: Within NPRC’s region and determined based on office availability and institutional needs with frequent in-person office hours required as set by the director.
    • Work hours:  8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Infrequent travel required
