Cook Forrest's Driving Tour to Historic Lumber Era Sites
Calling all outdoor and history fans! The Cook Forrest State Park will be hosting a ‘Driving Tour to Historic Lumber Era Sites’ on January 17th at 9am. The tour guides ask all who are interested to meet at the Park Office where they will conduct a driving “battlefield tour” to historic Lumber sites on the Clarino River. You will be able to see where the community 40-foot-long dugout canoe was likely kept, recollect about the great Ol’ Copper Still on Whiskey Run, recount “Wash” Dunkle’s epic fist fight, contemplate the Maze Gap drowning, and view remnants of the Bartley Mill.
