Night Fishin' the Clarion
Did you know that fishing at night is often THE best time to fish at Cook Forest State Park?
The National Wild & Scenic Clarion River contains many different kinds of fish and wildlife that are very active at night. Fish that are often wary during the day come out of their hiding spots at night to feed. Small-mouth bass and brook trout can be readily caught during daylight, but big brownies, catfish, and walleye are often on the prowl at night.
Be sure to bring your fishing poles, lanterns, and bait to the Park Office where we’ll car-pool to fishing hotspots along the river. Don’t forget your chicken livers!Night Fishin' the ClarionDate and Time
