The DuBois Chamber of Commerce is an organization that exists to bring local businesses together, help them succeed, and generally improve ability conduct business for both them and the average citizen. Founded in the early 1900s as the DuBois Board of Trade, then later becoming the Chamber of Commerce in 1945, they have longed served the best interests of the area. They do this by offering services and products that improve a business in one of four major ways: their CONNECTION to other business leaders, their VISIBILITY to the community, their overall KNOWLEDGE, or their REPUTATION.
-
Connection: The Chamber offers several services that act as networking opportunities for local businesses. Often, the best way to improve one’s business is observing the others around you and learning from other people in your field. Events such as the Golf Tournament, the Business Connections Luncheons, and the Business Bash are a great way for business leaders to mingle and learn from one another.
Visibility: The Chamber acts as a middleman between the community and their local business climate. By advertising for their members via means such as social media, email blasts, newsletters, working with local newspapers, and more, the Chamber helps both the consumers to discover local businesses that fit their needs, as well as helps businesses attract customers without having to pour all their efforts into constant marketing.
Knowledge: The Chamber prides itself on being a source of knowledge to the community. One only has to look at our Directory [linked to book website] to see that we are not only a place with knowledge of business, but also of the community at large. Unless we are closed due to a holiday or major event, we pride ourselves on always being open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Anyone can walk in and ask questions about amenities, directions, or anything else about the community.
Reputation: The Chamber maintains an impeccable reputation, and it shares that reputation with its members. Anyone who sees a business that is a member of the Chamber can know that they have our support, and as such an old and respected institution, that means a lot.
