DuBois Area Historical Society's 18th Spirit of DuBois Lantern Walk
Two changes are coming for the DuBois Area Historical Society’s 18th Spirit of DuBois Lantern Walk. This year the walk will focus “Those Who Serve Our Community,” looking at service organizations, their leaders, history, and contributions to the community! For the first time the Spirit of DuBois Lantern Walk will be conducted over two evenings on Friday, October 2, from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday, October 3rd, from 6-8 p.m. Tours will leave every 15 minutes from the E. D. Reitz Museum, 30 W. Long Ave., on those evenings. Admission price is $10 for adults, $3 for students, and children sixth grade and younger free if accompanied by an adult. Also, for the first time, the leaders and the performers will have sound amplification equipment to use! Performing are Lantern Walk veterans: Darius Clement, Darla Brunnquell, Tom Shade, Rocco Shahayda and Paul Sprague; and newcomers Nikki Cherry, Carson Lockard, and Chuck and Chris Meir, and Boston Stalter. To make advance reservations for a specific walk time, telephone 814-371-4627 between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m., available now. Tour groups will be limited to 20 people. Walk-ins are also welcome and will be assigned to the next available tour. The walk is a little less than a mile using downtown DuBois streets and alleys.
